To fill MBBS seats, Punjab medical colleges are requesting an extension.

The principals of Punjab’s private medical colleges have formally asked authorities to extend the application deadline for MBBS positions to February 28.
The action was taken after a number of schools reported that seats remained empty beyond the February 13 deadline.
College officials examined the current admissions situation and applicant issues during a consultative session at the University of Health Sciences, which was presided over by Ahsan Waheed Rathore. They decided that a complete fee refund would be given to any student who canceled their admission by March 31.
The goal of the conference was to make sure that all open posts are filled effectively while highlighting persistent disparities in MBBS seat distribution. Colleges made the decision to submit a formal request for approval to the Provincial Admission Committee.
Institutions will be able to finish admissions between February 24 and February 28 if the extension is approved. Officials stressed that after this time, no more extensions will be requested.
The procedures for transfers and refunds were also explained. A no objection certificate (NOC) must be obtained from the existing college by students who want to transfer, and colleges have been told not to wait until February 24 to issue these certifications.
The admissions procedure will be transparent and equitable since those who completely withdraw will receive a full refund.
The suggested deadline extension ensures regulatory compliance and the seamless completion of MBBS enrollments throughout Punjab by being in line with the recently updated Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) admissions schedule.
According to college administrators, the top objective is still to quickly fill all open seats while defending students’ rights to tuition refunds and transfers.
