Punjab cautions against contributing charity to banned organizations.

The Punjab Home Department has published a revised list of prohibited organizations and unregistered charitable institutions, advising individuals to direct their zakat, charitable donations, and other contributions exclusively to duly registered enterprises.
An official spokeswoman stated that offering financial or material assistance to prohibited organizations constitutes a serious offense under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997. Severe judicial measures will be implemented against individuals discovered aiding organizations engaged in terrorism or anti-state actions.
The spokesperson underscored that all humanitarian and charity organizations functioning in Punjab are required to be registered with the Punjab Charity Commission.
Citizens are urged to confirm the registration status of charities prior to making donations.
The agency indicated that registered organizations can be authenticated via the QR code displayed on their registration certificates.
Moreover, verification services are accessible around the clock through the Punjab Charity Commission’s WhatsApp number: 0313-4995564.
Authorities have requested the public to report any fundraising activities conducted by prohibited organizations or other dubious enterprises. Complaints may be submitted using the toll-free number 0800-11111 or the hotline 042-99213871.
The comprehensive list can be accessed on the official websites of the Punjab Home Department and the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
The spokesperson advised residents to guarantee that their donations benefit authentic and deserving recipients and to refrain from supporting any prohibited or unregistered organizations, thereby reinforcing initiatives to eradicate terrorism and uphold peace.
