Multiple cities are targeted by a joint security sweep that captures illegal Afghan residents.

A massive search and combing operation was conducted by security personnel against illegal Afghan inhabitants in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Murree.

Joint operations were carried out in G-9, Peshawar Mor, and the neighboring regions of Islamabad. A total of 59 cars, 39 motorcycles, 27 hotels and guest houses, 93 stores, and 317 homes were examined. During the operation, four unlawful Afghan nationals and seven suspects were taken into custody.

Search activities were conducted in a number of locations in Rawalpindi, including Pir Wadhai, Awan Town, and Misrial Road. 235 homes, 63 people, 25 cars, and 42 motorcycles were inspected by the authorities. Numerous illegal Afghan nationals and others with forged identification were apprehended, while 19 more were detained from various police station locations.

Additionally, searches of homes and informal settlements were carried out in different locations around Jhelum and Chakwal. Arrests were made for breaking tenancy regulations and harboring unlawful foreign nationals. In Jhelum, an illegal rifle was also found and an absconding suspect was apprehended.

Police and intelligence agencies inspected 20 people, 50 homes, and 95 cars together in Murree.

With 368 people deployed under an integrated operational framework, the coordinated operation included Rangers, Elite Force, CTD, Dolphin Squad, and intelligence services.

According to authorities, stringent screening of undocumented Afghan nationals was carried out, and tenancy agreements and residential records were verified. Additionally, illegal firearms and drugs were taken into custody.

Security forces reaffirmed that until all regions are free of unauthorized inhabitants, actions against illegal foreign nationals will continue.
