Prime Minister Shehbaz convenes with the Chinese ambassador, reaffirming the strategic partnership.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conferred with Jiang Zaidong, who reiterated China’s unequivocal support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and socio-economic advancement.

The ambassador of the People’s Republic of China visited the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad, as stated by the Prime Minister’s Office.

In the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the lasting All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China, defined by profound mutual trust, steadfast friendship, and a collective dedication to shared interests.

The prime minister extended his cordial greetings and best wishes to Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, the Chinese leadership, and the citizens of China on the celebratory occasion of the Chinese New Year.

He valued China’s unwavering and resolute support for Pakistan in economic, security, and developmental matters. He emphasized the significance of the Belt and Road Initiative and its principal project, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, underscoring the necessity to expedite current projects under CPEC. He also underscored the importance of augmenting collaboration in agriculture, information technology, mining, and mineral resources.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong informed the prime minister about recent advancements in bilateral relations and transmitted well-wishes from the Chinese leadership. He reaffirmed China’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and socio-economic advancement.

The parties shared perspectives on regional and international matters of shared concern and concurred to sustain close coordination and consultation to foster peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.
