Mohsin Naqvi participates in a six-nation conference on illicit immigration in Warsaw.

Mohsin Naqvi, the Federal Minister for Interior, headed Pakistan’s delegation at a six-nation conference in Warsaw, Poland, focused on enhancing collaboration to combat human trafficking and irregular migration.

The conference was attended by the interior ministers of Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, and Lithuania, who deliberated on coordinated strategies to combat illegal immigration networks and dismantle human trafficking operations.

Participants praised Pakistan’s initiatives in addressing illegal migration and combating human smuggling, recognizing the nation’s contribution to dismantling cross-border criminal networks. The member states also consented in principle to investigate the establishment of legitimate employment opportunities for Pakistani workers through lawful avenues.

During the session, Mohsin Naqvi informed attendees about the current situation along the Pak-Afghan border, emphasizing the security challenges encountered by Pakistan. He asserted that roughly 22 terrorist organizations were presently functioning and reorganizing in Afghanistan.

“Pakistan currently serves as a barrier against terrorists operating in Afghanistan and the broader world,” he stated, underscoring the nation’s dedication to regional and global security.

The conference ended with a collective commitment from participating nations to improve information-sharing systems, reinforce border management protocols, and advocate for legal migration routes.
