After Khamenei’s passing, protests break out outside the US Consulate in Karachi.

Shortly after news broke that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed in a US-Israeli operation on Iran, protests broke out outside the US Consulate.

When a big group of protesters formed near the consulate, local police used warning shots and tear gas to break up the crowd.

In order to control the situation and stop additional traffic, authorities temporarily stopped the highways that connected Sultanabad and Mai Kolachi. Additionally, traffic from Jinnah Bridge was rerouted via I.I. Chundrigar Road.

While security personnel continue to control the demonstrations and uphold public order, officials have asked locals to stay away from the area.
