CM Maryam instructs police to treat demonstrators with dignity in the wake of Khamenei’s martyrdom.

Following the murder of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that she has instructed the district administration and police to treat demonstrators in Lahore with dignity and compassion.
Law enforcement officials have been directed to respect the protesters’ feelings and treat them with dignity, according to a statement made by Maryam Nawaz on the social media site X.
Additionally, she declared that plans are on to serve the demonstrators Iftar meals.
The chief minister of Punjab also said that all Muslims are crying and in mourning right now, but he underlined that it is still everyone’s duty to keep the nation peaceful.
“We have a responsibility to fulfill. “We stand together in this time of grief,” she remarked.
According to a hospital official, earlier in the day, demonstrators and police battled near the US Consulate in Karachi, resulting in nine fatalities and eighteen injuries.
Police used baton-charge and tear gas shelling to keep the situation under control, Edhi said in a statement.

In order to control the situation and stop additional traffic, authorities temporarily stopped the highways that connected Sultanabad and Mai Kolachi. Additionally, traffic from Jinnah Bridge was rerouted via I.I. Chundrigar Road.
While security personnel continue to control the demonstrations and uphold public order, officials have asked locals to stay away from the area.
