Islamabad implements Section 144 in response to demonstrations against Khamenei’s murder.

Amid continuing protests in the federal capital, the district administration in Islamabad has imposed Section 144, banning any public meetings and closing the Red Zone.
Officials said that Section 144 is still in force throughout the city and that any gathering, protest, or demonstration will be deemed illegal. Officials issued a warning that those who violated the law would face severe consequences.
The administration stressed that the prohibition is applicable to all types of rallies and demonstrations without exception and asked individuals to abstain from attending any public event.
Following news that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been assassinated during US and Israeli attacks on Iran, protests erupted in Islamabad.
Many protesters flocked to Serena Chowk to voice their indignation.
In order to essentially block access to the area, police positioned containers on the roadways leading to Serena Chowk.
As security was stepped up, prison vehicles were also stationed at the location.
The actions were made, according to authorities, to uphold peace and order and avoid any unfortunate incidents in the capital.
