Prominent intellectuals and dignitaries of the Shia school of thought convened in Islamabad on Sunday for a meeting with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, according to officials.

The delegation, comprising Allama Mutahir, Allama Arif Wahidi, Wazir Kazmi, Ahmed Naqvi, Imran Ali Haideri, Syed Basharat Hussain Emami, Wajihul Hassan Kazmi, Abid Hussain, Amjad Alvi, and Zahid Abbas Kazmi, will deliberate on the nation’s present circumstances, sectarian cohesion, and the advancement of unity within the Muslim Ummah.

Officials observed that, under the current conditions, the work of religious academics in promoting mutual understanding is crucial.
