On World animals Day, the President asks people to do more to safeguard animals.

Asif Ali Zardari, the President of Pakistan, has asked people, communities, and the government to do more to safeguard the country’s wildlife and natural ecosystems. He has also warned that damage to the environment has a direct impact on people’s jobs and the economy.
On World Wildlife Day, the president sent a message to conservationists and groups fighting to protect wildlife across the country. He said that Pakistan’s many ecosystems, like forests, marshes, mountains, and coastal areas, are very important for farming, water systems, and rural life.
The president said, “Pakistan has amazing biodiversity and a variety of ecosystems that support agriculture, water systems, and livelihoods.” He went on to say that these natural resources are under more and more pressure from habitat loss, climate change, illegal hunting, and the unsustainable use of land and water.
He said that the effects of destruction to the environment are already being felt in communities. Forests that are getting smaller cause soil erosion and flooding, wetlands that are getting worse hurt farmers’ and fishermen’s incomes, and wildlife that is disappearing throws off ecosystems that support crops, grazing land, and clean water supplies.
He remarked, “These are not distant concerns,” and he pointed out that the effects are felt in rural villages, urban marketplaces, and homes that rely on natural resources.
President Zardari talked on ongoing efforts to safeguard habitats better, crack down on illicit hunting, and support community-led conservation projects. He also talked about how important it is for schools and other local organizations to have awareness programs. He said that long-term protection depends on people being knowledgeable and responsible.
The president urged for cooperation between public agencies and local people, as well as respect for environmental rules. He called wildlife protection a “practical responsibility.”
He remarked, “On this day, I urge all citizens to do their part to protect the natural resources that keep our country going.”
