Hezbollah reports that its members engaged in combat with Israeli forces along the Lebanon-Syria border.

Lebanese state media said that hostilities commenced as Israeli forces undertook a landing operation along the Lebanon-Syria border, with Hezbollah asserting the involvement of its members.
The Israeli military did not provide an immediate response, having conducted multiple strikes and deployed ground soldiers into Lebanon following Hezbollah’s missile attacks on Israel on Monday, which were in retaliation for the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The state-operated National News Agency (NNA) said that “clashes are occurring in the eastern mountain range along the Lebanese-Syrian border… to thwart Israeli landing attempts.”
The place specified is Nabi Sheet, situated in the eastern Baalbek area, where Hezbollah exerts influence.
Hezbollah announced that its combatants had “detected the incursion of four Israeli military helicopters from the Syrian direction.”
Upon landing, advancing troops “were confronted by a contingent” of Hezbollah fighters as they approached the Nabi Sheet cemetery, according to Hezbollah, which indicated the deployment of light and medium weaponry.
The confrontation intensified following the exposure of the hostile force, prompting Israeli troops to initiate heavy bombardments and commence evacuation procedures.
A distinct statement indicated that Hezbollah combatants launched rockets during the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
Video disseminated on social media depicted bursts of gunfire in the atmosphere.
Nabi Sheet endured a minimum of 13 Israeli air raids on Friday, as reported by the NNA, with the Lebanese health ministry confirming at least nine fatalities.
