The Pakistani embassy in Saudi Arabia is assisting pilgrims who are stuck during the Umrah.

Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, there has been a significant interruption in air travel, which has affected pilgrims from Pakistan and tourists visiting the region, particularly those doing the Umrah pilgrimage in the western part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Pakistani consulate general in Jeddah and the Pakistani embassy in Riyadh have set up 24-hour helplines and teams at regional airports to support and assist Pakistani passengers affected by flight schedule disruptions in accordance with the directives of the Pakistani government.

Due to the regional crisis, the situation for Pakistani pilgrims and tourists in Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah is stable, and the airspace in these areas is generally open with certain operating restrictions and risk cautions.

For the purpose of rescheduling cancelled flights and providing lodging by relevant agencies/parties until the rescheduled flights, Pakistani missions maintain constant communication with Umrah agencies and aircraft carriers.

In order to enable prompt and essential assistance and information exchange, the Pakistani embassy and Consulate General are keeping a careful eye on the situation and collaborating with the appropriate Saudi authorities.

The last two days have seen the facilitation of some 160 stranded Pakistani passengers at different airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since the situation in the region is always changing, missions are keeping an eye on it and will offer Pakistani visitors visiting Saudi Arabia further instructions and counsel as needed.
