The president honours orphans by hosting an Iftar dinner.

In honour of the orphans in the care of the Pakistan Orphan Care Forum, President Asif Ali Zardari held an Iftar supper at the President’s House on Saturday.
The gathering was attended by a huge number of orphan boys and girls. The event was planned to commemorate Orphans Day, which is observed annually throughout the Islamic world during the holy month of Ramadan by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The day’s main goals are to increase social solidarity, increase awareness of the difficulties experienced by orphans, and support complete care, education, and protection of children who are at risk, particularly in places devastated by violence.
President Asif Ali Zardari referred to children as Pakistan’s future in his remarks on the occasion. He informed the orphans that the President’s House was their home and that scholarships would be given to them as well as permanent access to contemporary educational possibilities at colleges and universities.
The President said he will continue to serve the people of Pakistan and prayed for peace in Pakistan and an improvement in the situation in the region.
Air Marshal (retd) Farooq Habib, the chairman of the Pakistan Orphan Care Forum, and other notable individuals were present at the event.
The forum’s chairman praised the president for welcoming and supporting the orphans.
He asserted that it was our common duty to construct the future and realise the aspirations of orphan children.
