Thirteen militants died in intelligence-driven operations in KP: ISPR

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reports that at least 13 militants were killed in five different encounters with Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign against militants associated with the “Fitna al-Khawarij,” the security forces conducted a number of intelligence-based operations, according to the ISPR.
Security personnel successfully targeted a militant stronghold in Bajaur District during an intelligence-based operation. Five of the militants were killed after a fierce firefight.
Security forces killed three other militants from the same group in two other engagements in the provinces of Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan.
Meanwhile, five more militants were killed in two other battles in South Waziristan District and Khyber District.
A sizable cache of guns and ammo was also found among the militants who were killed, the military said. According to reports, the suspects participated in a number of militant operations in the area.
Pakistan is currently dealing with new security issues along its border with Afghanistan. According to ISPR, security forces are still committed to protecting the nation’s borders and combating terrorism.
The ISPR added that in order to get rid of any last militants supported by outside forces, clearance operations are still taking place in the impacted areas.
