The Punjab government is determined to raise village living standards.

A total of 138 PC-1 documents have been generated as part of the Punjab government’s initiative to raise the standard of living in 485 villages around the state.

Infrastructure, sanitation, water supply, and other village development projects will be completed as part of the project, which will hasten efforts to raise the standard of living in rural areas.

The initial budget for Punjab’s Model Village Program was Rs 49 billion, but after a significant increase, the project’s overall cost has risen to almost Rs 60 billion.

The authorities report that 302 villages have received development contracts and 357 villages have been approved thus far. Additionally, 55 villages have released project tender advertisements.

It should be mentioned that the Model Village Program will gradually be extended to all of the province’s villages. The presentation made for the Chief Minister was also taken into consideration during the meeting presided over by the Minister for Local Government Affairs.

Every model community will have covered drains and a sewage infrastructure, according to the Minister for Local Government Affairs.

No roadway in any model hamlet will be unpaved after the program is finished. Additionally, the villages will have street lighting and filtration plants erected.

He stated that the program will give rural areas a fresh face and that a thorough master planning has been completed for the communities.

In order to guarantee the accuracy and transparency of the data, the Secretary of Local Government was also instructed to use artificial intelligence in the survey process.
