Pakistan is dealing with regional crises and a high tax burden: minister

According to Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, the next federal budget would include tax reduction measures.

He stated that in order to guarantee inclusive economic planning, budget recommendations are being requested from all parties involved.

Haroon Akhtar Khan highlighted that Pakistan is currently facing enormous challenges due to regional wars and the hefty tax burden on the economy, stated a release issued here on Tuesday.

He added, “The government will introduce relief packages and incentives for the public once the current war-like situation subsides.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would not let the public or the economy lose hope, Haroon Akhtar Khan stressed, adding that the Prime Minister is working nonstop to improve economic conditions.

During a meeting between the President of the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, the statements were made.

Federal budget ideas, Pakistan’s economic circumstances, and tax-related issues were discussed during the meeting.

The Ministry of Industries and Production will complete budget suggestions following consultation with all pertinent parties, according to Haroon Akhtar Khan.

He expressed optimism that the current state of the economy will be improved by the decisions made by the government and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s ongoing efforts.

Haroon Akhtar Khan received an invitation from the President of the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce to attend the Gujranwala Expo 2026, which will take place at the Karachi Expo Center.
