On March 23, banks will close nationwide in observance of Pakistan Day.

In observance of Pakistan Day, the State Bank of Pakistan has declared that all banks nationwide will be closed on Monday, March 23.
The Pakistani government proclaimed the holiday to commemorate the national anniversary, and all financial operations will be paused for the day, according to a statement from the central bank.
Every year on March 23, Pakistan Day is celebrated to honor the historic Lahore Resolution, which called for the creation of a distinct country for Muslims living on the subcontinent.
An important turning point in the fight for independence was reached when the resolution was approved in Lahore at the location of the current Minar-e-Pakistan.
Bank staff are anticipated to have an extended four-day holiday on March 23, which falls just after the Eid break. For Eid ul Fitr, the government has already designated March 20 (Friday) and March 21 (Saturday) as public holidays. March 22 is a Sunday.
Since Pakistanis are anticipated to celebrate a 30-day Ramadan this year, experts predict that Eid ul Fitr would fall on March 21.
The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission predicts that the new moon of Shawwal 1447 AH would be born around 06:23 PST on March 19, 2026.
According to the space agency, the moon will be around 12 hours and 41 minutes old at sunset on March 19. Along Pakistan’s coastal regions, there is an estimated 28-minute gap between sunset and moonset.
Nonetheless, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will ultimately decide when the Shawwal crescent is visible and when Eid begins.
