PIA intends to expand to other destinations and will start operating flights to London on the 29th.

Pakistan’s envoy to the United Kingdom (UK) announced on Tuesday that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will start operating again in London on March 29 after a six-year break. PIA flights will also be extended to other UK locations.
After Britain overturned a ban on the airline in July, PIA began operating in the UK again in October 2025 with its first route to Manchester. Today, the airline operates four weekly flights to the city.
Following a fatal PIA Airbus A320 crash in Karachi in May 2020 that claimed 97 lives, the ban was put in place. Following the catastrophe, there were claims of anomalies in pilot licensing, which also resulted in bans from the US and the EU.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Mohammad Faisal, informed reporters in London that “the first flight is landing [in London] on the 29th” and that “we want to further expand this.”
The ambassador stated that until the airline, which was privatized last year, resolves its financial issues, the process of flight growth will be gradual.
“Our community uses PIA extensively, and ticket prices are also reasonable, even though there is a slight financial crunch at the moment,” he stated.
“Therefore, it will land in Manchester four times a week and in London two or three times a week, God willing.”
