As the Middle East war affects Pakistan, MQM calls for national unification.

The leader of MQM Pakistan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, stated on Wednesday that Pakistan has been affected by the Middle East conflict and urged the country to stay cohesive and mentally ready for any situation.

At a press conference in Karachi, Siddiqui stated that it is yet unclear how the violence will affect the area.

He praised the Pakistan Army and government for their efforts, stating that the army is capable of handling any situation and has the full support of the nation.

He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to mediation and negotiations, called for unity among the populace, and recommended stringent measures, such as possible lockdowns, to control the economic damage.

Additionally, Siddiqui emphasized the execution of Article 140-A to improve local administration in all cities, including Karachi, and called for the urgent passage of the 28th Constitutional Amendment to empower the people.

MQM leader Farooq Sattar criticized the feudal form of democracy and emphasized that urban growth requires a robust local government structure.

Mustafa Kamal, another MQM leader, said that the nation’s system is concentrated in the hands of a few number of chief ministers and called for a concerted approach to deal with the current issue, cautioning that the government must foil enemies’ aims.
