Egyptian and Turkish Foreign Ministers arrive in Pakistan for regional discussions.

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Türkiye’s Hakan Fidan arrived in Islamabad on Saturday in anticipation of regional discussions on Sunday, intended to mitigate the current conflict in Iran, according to the foreign office, as Pakistan intensifies its diplomatic initiatives to facilitate peace in the area.
The foreign ministers will engage in comprehensive discussions on many problems, including initiatives to mitigate regional tensions, according to a statement from the foreign office.
The visit would enhance Pakistan’s collaboration and coordination with these nations in several areas of shared interest.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had stated that the meeting was originally scheduled to take place in Türkiye.
The visit is at the behest of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The Egyptian foreign minister is slated to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit.
A Foreign Office spokesperson stated that the visit signifies the strong and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Egypt, emphasizing their continued collaboration on regional issues.
The journey aligns with a scheduled four-nation conference in Islamabad on March 29–30, as part of diplomatic initiatives to alleviate tensions between Iran and the United States.
The conference will convene the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
