Sharjeel states that MQM-P seeks the decentralization of power to the grassroots level without participating in local government elections.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated on Monday that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) advocates for the decentralization of power to the grassroots level yet avoids participating in Local Government (LG) elections.

During a news conference in Karachi, Sharjeel Memon stated that MQM-P must operate on the same salary structure.

He stated that Muttahida asserts that authority should be delegated to the grassroots level; but, it withdraws when local government elections occur. He stated that MQM-P had previously retreated upon witnessing defeat in local elections. He asserted that Farooq Sattar’s views should not be accorded much value.

The provincial council has sanctioned the acquisition of wheat, and farmers would receive a support price of Rs 3,500 every 40 kilograms of wheat.

Sharjeel Memon announced that funding has been sanctioned for development initiatives throughout Sindh, including Karachi. He stated that all educational institutions will now conduct normal in-person classes rather than online classes.

During the event, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar announced that 393 dacoits relinquished their guns during the operation in the Katcha region. He stated that travel from Sukkur to Bahawalpur was previously arduous but has now been rendered secure, and that they are progressing into the second phase of the operation in the Katcha region.
