ECP releases the Sindh LG by-election schedule.

The timetable for Sindh’s local government by-elections has been released by the Pakistani Election Commission.

The schedule states that 45 open seats in 16 districts—Hyderabad, Sukkur, Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, Matiari, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Sanghar, Ghotki, Khairpur, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Jacobabad, Kashmore, and Shikarpur—will be up for by-elections.

Returning officers will notify the public on April 2, 2026, marking the start of the election process. The deadline for submitting nomination papers is April 6–8, and the deadline for reviewing them is April 13–15.

Candidates have until April 30 to withdraw their candidacy papers once an initial list of candidates is released on April 16. On May 4, the final candidate list and election symbol distribution will be finalized.

On May 17, 2026, polling for the by-elections will take place continuously from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
