Iranian FM Ishaq Dar talks on the phone about the regional situation

According to the Pakistan Foreign Office, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke over the phone on Saturday about the changing regional situation.

The two presidents talked about the shifting circumstances in the region, according to Tahir Andrabi, a spokesman for the Foreign Office.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s backing for any initiatives aimed at easing tensions. According to the spokeswoman, Ishaq Dar highlighted the value of communication and diplomacy in resolving conflicts.

In light of continued advancements, the two leaders also decided to stay in close communication during the discussion.

Iran had earlier strongly denied claims in Western media that it had declined to participate in negotiations in Islamabad, instead reiterating its readiness to participate and thanking Pakistan for its diplomatic efforts.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi addressed what he called false information about Tehran’s position on possible talks in a message posted on social media site X. He underlined that Iran had “never refused to go to Islamabad” and that Pakistan’s attempts to resolve the current dispute were still appreciated.
