To save electricity, the KP government restricts business hours.

In an effort to save electricity, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) administration has decided to restrict business hours throughout the province,Markets and commercial plazas in divisional headquarters would reportedly close at 9:00 PM in accordance with the new directives, while they will shutter by 8:00 PM in other districts.
All venues, including cafés, restaurants, and wedding halls, have been told to close by 10:00 PM throughout KP. Takeout and home delivery services, however, will be permitted to operate after business hours.
Private offices, academies, banks, jewelry stores, and fitness facilities would all be subject to the KP government’s amended schedules.
Export, manufacturing, and industrial facilities are not subject to these limitations. Nonetheless, industry-related showrooms and retail locations must adhere to the set business hours.
Additionally, the KP government has mandated that decorative and superfluous lighting, such as façade and ornamental lights, be kept off.
According to the authorities, the action is intended to lower electricity usage and encourage effective energy use in business operations.
Deputy commissioners will monitor markets at the district level to enforce the directives, and all administrative secretaries and commissioners have been instructed to guarantee rigorous adherence.
