The Peshawar High Court is challenging the increase in petroleum prices.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has received a petition contesting the rising cost of petroleum products.
Respondents in the action include the Ministry of Power, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the Ministry of Petroleum, and other pertinent entities.
Citing Article 199(1) of the Constitution, which holds the government accountable for resolving and managing the energy issue, the petition also named the chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a party.
The petitioner contended that as the current energy crisis has a detrimental impact on daily life and businesses, neglecting to regulate petroleum prices is a breach of fundamental human rights.
The petitioner also demanded that gas, electricity, and petroleum products be continuously supplied, that growing gas costs be curbed, and that a uniform billing system be put in place.
