Iran and the United States reached a cease-fire deal on Tuesday, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif summoned both sides to Islamabad for more discussions on April 10.

According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the cease-fire between Iran and the United States, as well as their allies, covers “Lebanon and elsewhere” and takes effect right away.

Sharif posted on social media, saying, “I warmly welcome the sage gesture extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, April 10, 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes.”

He emphasised that throughout this crucial mediation, both sides have shown “remarkable wisdom and understanding” and have continued to be constructively involved in advancing the cause of peace and security.

Sharif stated, “We sincerely hope that the ‘Islamabad Talks’ succeed in achieving sustainable peace and wish to share more good news in coming days.”
