A fact-finding committee was set up because of changes to the matric exam center.

The Provincial Minister has asked the Secretary of Universities and the appropriate education boards to give him a report right away. Rahu has also ordered the creation of a fact-finding commission to look into the matter in depth.

Ismail Rahu said, “A full report will be sent once the investigation is over.”

The All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association (ASPSCA) had strong concerns about the Board of Secondary Education Karachi’s (BSEK) administrative mistakes and decision to let matriculation students take their exams at any center they wanted, according to ARY News.

The ASPSCA called the BSEK’s management “faulty and unsatisfactory” when the matriculation exams began this Friday. ASPSCA Chairman Hyder Ali and General Secretary said in a joint statement that the last-minute choice of exam venues and the many revisions that followed are clear evidence of board mismanagement.

Main Issues Brought Up by ASPSCA:

Failure of the System:

The group said that problems with submitting enrolment and exam forms and repeated software bugs show that the board’s digital infrastructure is failing.

Helping with irregularities:

The ASPSCA said that setting up tiny centers and then putting more than 1,000 students in them is a way to help “cheating mafias” and corruption.

Poor use of resources:

It was said that letting students pick their own exam centers was a “unfruitful practice” that wasted valuable administrative resources.

Allegations of incompetence:

The association questioned the Controller of Examinations’ ability to do their job, saying that their lack of expertise and knowledge of the city had caused the exam system to break down.

Effect on Students
The ASPSCA said that this administrative mess has caused thousands of students unnecessary mental anguish and is a clear infringement of their right to take tests in a calm setting.

Action Needed
The group has officially asked that high-level officials take prompt notice of these problems and put in place emergency measures to make sure that the rest of the exam period is open and orderly.
