Pakistan suggests holding a second round of US-Iran negotiations in Islamabad.

According to two Pakistani sources, Pakistan has suggested holding a second round of negotiations between the US and Iran in Islamabad in the upcoming days, before the present ceasefire expires.

Speaking under condition of anonymity because they were not permitted to discuss the issue in public, the officials stated that the proposal is still being considered and would rely on if both parties would prefer a different location for the next round of talks.

Despite the fact that the initial negotiations in Islamabad concluded without a deal, one of the officials stated that they were a part of a continuous diplomatic procedure rather than a one-time interaction.

According to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the situation, the development occurs as the United States and Iran continue to actively discuss holding another round of face-to-face talks aimed at securing a longer-term ceasefire and preventing renewed conflict after earlier talks in Pakistan failed to produce a deal.

According to reports, the plan calls for setting up a follow-up conference before the temporary truce that was negotiated earlier in April ends later this month.

Pakistan’s growing position as a mediator between Washington and Tehran is highlighted by reports that both sides have indicated a readiness to maintain diplomatic lines despite the lack of progress. Islamabad is also being examined as a possible location for further discussions.
