Over 3,500MW of power is lacking as loadshedding is contested in court.

All of the national power distribution companies (DISCOs) are experiencing worsening electricity conditions, with load shedding significantly increasing.
Sources claim that the average power deficit has surpassed 3,500 megawatts, resulting in more unexpected loadshedding in Punjab, especially Lahore.
The shortage at LESCO has surpassed 1,000 megawatts, making matters worse for customers.
According to National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) sources, RLNG, hydropower, and oil shortages are the cause of the increased load shedding.
They also stated that the lack of an appropriate load-shedding schedule is causing unexpected outages, with power disruptions lasting up to six hours rather than the typical two.
The public may continue to be inconvenienced by the ongoing situation for a few more days, officials cautioned.
In the meantime, a petition against the nation’s continuous, unexpected load shedding has been submitted to the Lahore High Court.
According to the Judicial Activism Panel’s miscellaneous application, companies are also negatively impacted and citizens are experiencing outages despite paying high electricity rates and not receiving power on an equal basis.
The petitioner has asked the court to order a stop to load shedding and to guarantee a continuous and nondiscriminatory supply of power.
