In Pakistan, civil servants are not allowed to get involved in politics.

The Establishment Division has officially told everyone about the new rules, which are called the “Civil Servants Conduct Rules 2026.” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave his permission for them.

It supersedes the 1964 conduct standards that have been in existence for decades and goes into effect right now for all Pakistani civil personnel, both in Pakistan and overseas.

All government workers must now report their holdings, according to the new requirements. People in Grade 17 and upwards must submit annual statements through a specific digital platform.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will check these disclosures, and some of the information may be made public to be more open.

Also, the government of Pakistan put stricter rules on what people can do online.

Civil workers can’t run blogs, vlogs, or media platforms without permission, and they can’t post official material on their personal social media profiles.

Authorities can ask for information about employees’ personal online accounts at any time.

The laws also say that those in official positions can’t use them to promote themselves, and they can’t accept gifts or advantages that could affect their official duties.

Officials can’t make decisions that affect their own money, and they need to get permission from the government before accepting any foreign prizes or titles.

The new standards also make political neutrality stronger. Civil officials are not allowed to endorse political groups, take part in political activities, or publicly criticise government policies.

Also, the laws say that government workers can’t work part-time or full-time for private enterprises, banks, NGOs, or foreign organisations while they’re on the job.

The guidelines also limit the publication of information that could put sensitive or private information at risk.

The administration says that the steps are meant to make the public sector more honest, disciplined, and accountable.
