Dar says it is a joy to have Abbas Araghchi visit Islamabad.

In an effort to promote regional peace and stability, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other high-ranking officials were welcomed to Islamabad on Friday by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
“Happy to receive and welcome my brother, Foreign Minister of Iran, H. E. Abbas Araghchi @Araghchi, to Islamabad, alongside Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi,” Ishaq Dar wrote in a post on the social media site X.
“Look forward to our meaningful engagements aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region,” Dar stated.
It is important to note that late on Friday night, an Iranian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad to discuss the second round of negotiations with the United States.
The Iranian delegation was greeted by Field Marshal Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, according to the Foreign Office. Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s interior minister, and Reza Amiri Moghadam, Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, were also there.
The Iranian Foreign Minister will meet with senior Pakistani officials during the visit. The current state of affairs in the region and ongoing initiatives for peace and stability will be discussed during the sessions.
The Iranian Foreign Minister will visit Moscow and Muscat after his stay in Pakistan. Prioritising neighbouring nations, Abbas Araghchi had earlier confirmed trips to Moscow, Islamabad, and Muscat.
The Iranian Foreign Minister stated in a statement on X that he is leaving for punctual trips to these places in order to continue tight coordination with partners on bilateral issues and to consult on regional developments.
President Donald Trump’s adviser Jared Kushner and US Special Envoy on the Middle East Steve Witkoff will go to Pakistan on Saturday for a second round of negotiations with Iran, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
“I confirm that special envoy Witkoff and Jared Kushner will be returning to Pakistan to hold direct talks with representatives from the Iranian delegation, mediated by the Pakistanis, who have been amazing friends and mediators throughout this entire process,” she told Fox News.
Leavitt stated, “Everyone will be ready to fly to Pakistan if needed, but first Steve and Jared will be going over there to report back to the president, the vice president, and the rest of the team.”
