The government has increased petrol prices by Rs26.77 per litre.

On Friday, the government announced a significant hike in petrol prices, hiking both petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs26.77 per litre, as per an official statement from the gasoline Division.
According to the updated rates, petrol is now priced at Rs393.35 per litre, and diesel is fixed at Rs380.19 per litre.
The new pricing will take effect at midnight on April 25 and will remain in force for the subsequent week.
Officials indicated that the escalation is indicative of surging global oil prices due to regional tensions, compelling the government to transfer the financial burden despite attempts to mitigate some of the effects.
