Pakistan has solicited bids for three LNG cargoes scheduled for delivery in April and May.

Pakistan LNG Limited has received bids for the procurement of three liquefied natural gas cargoes for delivery in late April and early May.

Authorities indicated that bids were received by global suppliers in response to a tender released on April 23, with final permission for the acquisitions to be granted by the Pakistan LNG Board.

PLL disclosed that a bid of $18.88 per MMBtu was submitted for an LNG cargo set for delivery between April 27 and April 30, representing the highest price among the three cargoes.

A bid of $18.54 per MMBtu was received for a second cargo scheduled for delivery between May 1 and May 7.

Concurrently, the most economical proposal among the three was noted for cargo delivery from May 8 to May 14, presenting an offer of $17.99 per MMBtu.

Pakistan solicited proposals from international energy companies for three spot LNG cargoes to address projected demand in April and May.

Officials stated that the purchase process demonstrates ongoing efforts to get fuel supply via the spot market in response to changing global energy conditions.

The proposals will be evaluated prior to the Pakistan LNG Board’s final decision about the continuation of the purchases.

Energy analysts indicated that pricing and permission decisions will be scrutinised due to Pakistan’s overarching initiatives to regulate import expenditures while guaranteeing supply security.

Spot LNG acquisitions have continued to be a crucial component of Pakistan’s energy strategy, especially during times of heightened demand or supply limitations.

Market analysts observed that variations in global LNG prices persistently affect procurement plans for importing nations, including Pakistan.
