PTI will soon announce a significant demonstration.

During the highly attended rally, Afridi declared, “a significant protest call is forthcoming,” indicating that individuals from throughout the nation would participate in substantial numbers.
He informed the throng that this time, all of Pakistan will mobilise, characterising the assembly as a precursor to the subsequent phase of PTI’s street movement under the guidance of party founder Imran Khan.
He implored his supporters in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to remain prepared. He asserted: There is no margin for error this time. Are you prepared? Prepare yourself!
He attacked the administration by stating, “You may engage in shelling.” You can obliterate Imran Khan’s vision. While you may restrict him in isolation, anticipate that we will make sacrifices for Pakistan. Is this an endeavour solely undertaken by the PTI? Did he enquire? We will emerge. We shall demonstrate. He restated. The Constitution of Pakistan grants us this privilege. I am jeopardising my entire political career by urging them to uphold the Constitution and the electoral process, yet we have exhausted all legal avenues. The Superintendent of Adiala Jail is disregarding court rulings, while the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court does not acknowledge my greetings during Ramadan. These individuals are not undergoing reform.
Afridi, tasked with orchestrating the street campaign in the province, commended the populace of Azad Kashmir for their unwavering support of Imran Khan. He condemned the “imposed” government in AJK, alleging it usurped the public mandate and employed undemocratic methods.
He cautioned against any efforts to manipulate the next elections in AJK and pledged that PTI supporters would not remain passive in response to purported injustices, including the incarceration of Imran and Bushra Bibi.
The event, hosted by PTI Azad Kashmir, showcased fervent shouts and chanting of “D-Chowk” from the attendees. Additional leaders, like as Salman Akram Raja and local PTI representatives including Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, also spoke during the assembly.
The recent surge in mobilisation has escalated due to ongoing apprehensions regarding Imran Khan’s health. PTI leaders, notably Afridi, have consistently asserted that the former prime minister has not been afforded sufficient medical attention or familial access at Adiala Jail, despite judicial mandates and humanitarian requests.
They have cautioned that neglecting to resolve these issues may result in intensified nationwide protests.
The Muzaffarabad assembly adheres to a clear mobilisation strategy delineated by Afridi. He originally scheduled a significant rally in Rawalpindi on April 9, but it was annulled at Imran Khan’s directive due to the current global and regional circumstances involving foreign delegations in Islamabad.
Afridi subsequently convened a substantial public assembly in Mardan on April 19, during which he announced the subsequent phase of the street action. During that event, he announced that the current mobilisation initiative would commence in AJK on April 25, coinciding with PTI’s foundation day, followed by Lahore on May 1.
Following his talk at the Lal Chowk rally, Afridi is anticipated to tour other sites throughout Kashmir during his three-day visit to engage with local PTI leaders and activists as part of the ongoing outreach initiative. During his visit to AJK, he is also slated to journey to Neelum Valley.
Punjab PTI is uninformed
Uncertainty persists over Sohail Afridi’s anticipated visit to Lahore, as the Punjab chapter of the PTI has said that it has not received any formal notification concerning the arrangement, which was initially slated for May 1 and subsequently provisionally rescheduled to May 2.
The ambiguity has rendered the provincial leadership uninformed of preparations, leading some party members to perceive the initiative as more theatrical than substantive—a performative exercise appearing devoid of a definitive course of action. Concerns have been expressed regarding the potential for arrests under the PML-N-led government should the visit proceed.A PTI leader in Punjab stated, “We are uncertain whether K-P CM will be visiting Lahore.”
He disclosed that the leadership in Punjab considers this a provisional plan, noting that Afridi’s attendance would likely provoke widespread arrests by the PML-N-led administration, resulting in minimal enthusiasm in Punjab for such a visit, particularly in the absence of any substantial benefit. All were ready for additional FIRs and potential arrests, although lacked understanding of the benefits it would confer upon the party or Imran Khan. He stated that, in his opinion, the chief minister’s comments at the Mardan gathering may have been made without thorough contemplation.
He stated that, in his interpretation, the chief minister had made a cursory remark during the Mardan rally, without giving it significant attention at the moment. He stated that the request for permission on May 2 was only a formality, as it was broadly recognised that the government would not provide consent.
The same politician remarked that conducting a political rally on May 2 could precipitate arrests throughout Punjab and conflict with a private engagement. He stated that any such activity on that date could result in numerous party workers being incarcerated.
The chief minister’s visit would complicate matters for him because to the opposition leader’s son’s wedding occurring around the same time. He stated that the TTAP, or another justification, might readily be used to postpone the program.
PTI MPA Ejaz Shafi stated that the provincial leadership had not been officially notified on the visit.
He noted that, in the absence of official communication, the programme remained tentative. He stated that all previous plans would be executed upon receipt of formal notification. He asserted that no one in the party worried arrests or first information reports.
PTI Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram stated that the party has not yet adopted an official stance. The party has not convened its leadership meeting for three days, resulting in the absence of an official position on this matter. Hopefully, on Saturday, they will be holding a meeting to discuss this.”
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated his intention to visit Lahore during a rally in Mardan on April 19. The announcement, however, further strained relations with the TTAP, whose leaders protested the lack of consultation and objected to an overlap with their planned event in Lahore on May 1.
According to multiple PTI leaders, the party later assured the TTAP that the chief minister intended to attend the alliance’s event before holding his own engagements in the city.
The TTAP has already requested the PTI to ask the K-P chief minister to postpone his visit, citing the heightened risk of mass arrests by the government in a bid to restrict his political activity in Punjab. According to TTAP leaders, they have been assured by the PTI secretary general regarding the matter.
