Hundreds of wives of govt employees discovered getting BISP funds; salary deductions to start

It is stated that more than 600 wives of government officials have been caught collecting funding from the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).

The channel report said families of personnel working in police, health, education, SCARP, HESCO and irrigation sectors were among those who benefited from the programme.

Authorities have started recovery measures by deducting salaries of the personnel affected based on findings.

Details reveal that Rs631,000-plus has been withdrawn from 38 police personnel and Rs729,000-plus has been collected from 45 SCARP employees.

Besides, Rs252,000 has been collected from 15 employees of Deputy Commissioner’s office while Rs685,000-plus has been seized from 42 staff members of the irrigation department.

The article further says deductions have also been taken from the wages of 14 executive engineers and 17 teachers and recovery is proceeding throughout departments.

The action has allegedly raised worry among federal staff as investigations and recovery efforts expand.
