Rana Sanaullah says politics of hate, division bound to fail

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Political and Public Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan said that sustained growth was not possible without proper and integrated road infrastructure and politics of hatred, division and abusive language always failed.

Inaugurating reconstruction/improvement of a 30-kilometre major road for 12 villages in his constituency, he said that past development schemes were often limited in scope, with roads built in fragments of one or two kilometres, which failed to meet broader needs of the population. Addressing a public gathering on Sunday, he said that

The administration had taken a holistic approach to connect the entire constituency with a well-planned road network so that people of all villages could have equitable access to urban centres and basic utilities, he said.

He said development without roads was inconceivable and the government was giving high importance to this area.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had always encouraged the politics of development and public service, Rana Sanaullah stated. “All the big infrastructure projects throughout the country including hospitals, universities, flyovers, underpasses and motorways were initiated during PMLN regime,” he added.

He also chastised political opponents for not doing anything during their reign and said that they focused on publicity, allegations and creating divisions among the public instead of working for welfare.

He said those who lacked the spirit of public service would turn to promoting hostility and negativity to mask their weaknesses while the past had demonstrated that such elements would be rejected by the people in the end.

On law & order, he said that the situation in Punjab has improved considerably with apparent drop in crime rate and higher sense of security among the populace.

“Incidents of robbery and street crime, which created fear among the public, have reduced considerably,” he said, adding that the administration was pushing hard to further increase public safety.

“Talking about global scenario, Rana Sanaullah said that Pakistan was standing at a dignified position in the international community and it was being respected by the major world powers.

He urged the population to shun negative propaganda and embrace a positive mindset and togetherness, saying national cohesion was crucial in directing the country to progress and prosperity.
