After visiting China for five days, the president returns to Pakistan.

After spending five days in China, President Asif Ali Zardari returned to Pakistan on Friday.

President Zardari held talks in the provinces of Hunan and Hainan during his tour, with an emphasis on strengthening collaboration in the areas of agriculture, industrial growth, and the maritime sector.

The advancement of CPEC 2.0 programs, especially those that support domestic industrial growth and the blue economy, continued to be the primary focus.

A number of high-level talks with provincial leadership were also part of the tour. President Zardari had in-depth conversations with party officials in Sanya and Changsha, concentrating on cooperative prospects unique to each location. These interactions demonstrated the importance of subnational diplomacy in bolstering Pakistan-China relations, especially in areas like industry, agriculture, and marine development.

The president honoured the late Chinese leader by making a symbolic trip to Shaoshan, Mao Zedong’s hometown.

President Zardari’s attendance as chief guest at the commissioning ceremony of the Pakistan Navy’s first Hangor-class submarine in Sanya was another noteworthy aspect of the trip. The development highlights the two nations’ growing strategic convergence and marks a significant turning point in their defence collaboration.

The visit happened in the context of Pakistan and China’s 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties. Throughout the journey, conversations centred on strengthening a partnership that keeps growing in both scope and size by extending collaboration across a variety of industries.
