Pentagon strikes agreements with leading AI companies

In an effort to increase the number of AI providers serving the military, the Pentagon said that it has established agreements with seven AI firms to use their cutting-edge capabilities on the Defence Department’s classified networks.
Anthropic, which has been at odds with the Pentagon over restrictions on the military’s use of its AI technologies, is not included in the statement.
Earlier this year, the Pentagon designated the AI startup, which is extensively utilised throughout the Defence Department, as a supply-chain risk, prohibiting its use by the Pentagon and its contractors.
The Pentagon said in a statement that SpaceX, OpenAI, Google, NVIDIA, Reflection, Microsoft, and Amazon Web Services—some of which currently collaborate with the agency—will be incorporated into its top-secret and secret network environments, giving more military access to their products for use on delicate subjects.
Donald Trump Jr. is a partner and investor in 1789 Capital, a venture capital firm that supports the lesser-known Reflection AI, which raised $2 billion in October.
