Trump claims that the US Navy is conducting a naval blockade of Iranian ports “like pirates.”

During the U.S. and Israel’s war on Iran, President Donald Trump said on Friday that the U.S. Navy was behaving “like pirates” in enforcing Washington’s naval blockade of Iranian ports.
Trump made the remarks while discussing how American forces had seized a ship a few days prior. We seized control of the ship, the cargo, and the oil. In remarks on Friday night, Trump stated, “It’s a very profitable business.” “We resemble pirates. We resemble pirates in several ways, but we’re not playing games.”
Along with sanctioned cargo ships and Iranian tankers in Asian waters, the United States has seized some of Tehran’s ships after they have left Iranian ports.
Since the beginning of the conflict, Iran has prevented almost all ships—aside from its own—from crossing the Strait of Hormuz. A different blockade on Iranian ports has been implemented by Trump.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran. In retaliation, Iran launched its own attacks against Israel and Gulf nations that house American installations. Millions have been displaced and thousands have died as a result of Israeli attacks in Lebanon and U.S.-Israeli bombings on Iran.
A chokepoint for almost 20% of the world’s shipments of liquefied natural gas and oil, the Strait of Hormuz has been blocked due to the war, which has also increased oil prices.
Trump has been widely condemned for his remarks on the war, notably his warning to destroy Iran’s entire civilisation last month. He has presented changing timeframes and aims for the conflict, which is still unpopular in the United States.
Following Trump’s warning to target civilian infrastructure, some U.S. experts stated last month that American strikes on Iran would be considered war crimes.
