Sindh Assembly Standing Committee on Home Affairs to convene on June 4

The Sindh Assembly’s Standing Committee on Home Affairs will meet on June 4 (Thursday) to assess the internal security and law-and-order situation in the state.
Sources said the meeting will be presided over by member Sindh Assembly Faryal Talpur. The meeting has been specifically invited members of the National Assembly, senators, members of the Standing Committee on Interior of the National Assembly and senior MPs.
Sindh Excise Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab will also attend the meeting.
The sources stated that the members of the Standing Committee on Interior of the National Assembly Naveed Qamar, Nabeel Gabol, Abdul Qadir Patel have also been asked to participate.
The committee will discuss the measures to carry out drug testing to check drug usage in educational institutions. The Excise Department will apprise the committee on the efforts being taken in this regard.
Police authorities would also apprise the committee of the status of investigation into the Pinky case.
The conference would be attended by Inspector General Sindh Police, leaders of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch and Crime Investigation Agency (CIA).
