Investigation shows that outside sources are funding the outlawed JAAC: Sana Rana

According to Rana Sanaullah, the prime minister’s political affairs adviser, the outlawed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) is receiving funds from outside sources and has rejected multiple proposals for peaceful conflict resolution.

During a TV appearance, Rana Sanaullah stated that the outlawed group has never before advocated for the elimination of the 12 refugee seats in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Assembly.

“The JAAC agreed to the formation of a committee to investigate the matter and raised this demand along with 38 other demands in October 2025,” he stated.

Speaking on the show, Rana Sanaullah claimed that the outlawed JAAC had made a fresh demand, demanding that the statement requiring candidates running for the AJK Assembly to declare that Kashmir would join Pakistan after independence be removed.

He asserted that enquiries had revealed outside funding for the banned group, including Pakistani citizens residing in the UK.

The PML-N leader claims that the federal government suggested a number of ways to resolve the conflict over refugee seats, such as conducting a referendum, calling an all-parties meeting, and sending the issue to the AJK Assembly for discussion.

He claimed that the outlawed group, however, rejected each of these suggestions and was still determined to carry out its protest on June 9.
