All schools in Balochistan are prohibited from using physical punishment.

As part of its efforts to ensure compliance with the instruction, the Balochistan Education Department has issued an official notification to enforce the entire prohibition on the use of physical punishment in all public and private educational institutions located throughout the province.

As per the newly implemented guideline, it is strictly forbidden for teachers to use sticks or any other things to inflict physical punishment on their children, including slapping them. The act of humiliating, threatening, or sexually abusing students will also be considered a kind of misbehavior that can result in disciplinary action.

Schools have been given instructions by the department to maintain discipline through methods that are positive, non-violent, and student-friendly rather than through the use of physical reinforcement. In addition, teachers have been instructed to behave in a manner that is polite and productive toward children.

As stated in the notification, each and every complaint that pertains to the use of physical punishment will be investigated as soon as possible, and the findings will be presented to the appropriate district education officer immediately.

Additionally, the Education Department has mandated that all schools in the province of Balochistan keep complaint registers in order to facilitate the reporting of events. In addition, there will be awareness sessions on children’s rights organized for everyone involved, including students, parents, and instructors.

The notification serves as a warning that teachers and other responsible personnel who are discovered to be in violation of the restriction will be subject to severe disciplinary action from the department.
