Court invites arguments on Imran Khan’s plea for jail meeting in defamation case

A sessions court on Saturday heard arguments on a request by the legal team of the PTI founder for permission to meet him in jail amid proceedings in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s defamation suit.

During the hearing, an associate lawyer for the PTI founder told the court that the senior counsel was busy with proceedings before a court in Karachi and pleaded to take up the issue regarding a jail meeting.

The court granted the request and asked the parties to file their arguments on the miscellaneous application by July 22.

A defamation suit filed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif against the Imran Khan is pending before the court.
