By-election in PS-30 Khairpur: Polling in progress

The polling for Sindh Assembly constituency PS-30 Khairpur will be held on Sunday to elect a new representative after the death of PPP lawmaker Naeem Ahmed Kharl.

There are a total of 254,980 registered voters, male and female, eligible to vote in the constituency.

The Election Commission established 164 voting stations in Gambat and Sobhodero tehsils of Khairpur district.

64 polling locations have been declared highly sensitive and 68 sensitive while the rest have been rated as regular.

The polls opened at 8am and will be open continuously until 5pm.

Officials said PPP candidate Barrister Asfandyar Khan Kharl is contesting by-election against seven independent candidates.

Security has been beefed up with the deployment of around 2,500 police troops at voting sites and for maintaining law and order during the election.
