KP intends to use a motorway to provide interdistrict BRT service from Peshawar.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Department has started work on a plan to launch an inter-district BRT-style bus service connecting Peshawar with other districts through the motorway.
According to officials, the proposed project would connect Peshawar with Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi and Charsadda through a modern bus service modeled on the existing BRT system.
The Transport Department has decided to initiate a feasibility study for the project soon. The study will determine the proposed routes, estimated cost of the project and locations for establishing BRT stations.
Officials said operating BRT-style buses on the motorway would be relatively easier compared to the GT Road. The proposed service is expected to provide daily travel facilities to thousands of passengers commuting between Peshawar and adjoining districts.
According to the Transport Department, the cost, routes, stations and other technical details of the project will be finalized after completion of the feasibility study.
Officials said the objective of the inter-district BRT project is to establish a modern and efficient public transport link between Peshawar and other districts.
