Karachi records 603 traffic accident deaths this year

A total of 603 people have lost their lives in various traffic accidents in Karachi this year, according to details released by rescue authorities.
According to rescue officials, those killed in traffic accidents included 463 men, 73 women and 67 children. The data highlights the number of fatalities recorded in different road accidents across the city during the year.
Rescue authorities said 7,467 people were also injured in various traffic accidents in Karachi this year. The injured included 5,649 men, 1,322 women and 496 children.
Meanwhile, 184 people were killed in accidents involving heavy vehicles during the year. Twelve people lost their lives after being hit by dumpers, while 84 were killed in trailer-related accidents and 46 died in accidents involving water tankers.
According to rescue authorities, 18 people were killed in accidents involving mini-trucks, while bus-related accidents claimed the lives of 24 people during the year.
