Dar calls for dialogue towards regional peace in meeting with US diplomats

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar called for dialogue to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East in a meeting with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday that “Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker paid a visit to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.”

“The discussion focused on bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the US and recent regional developments. He emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for sustaining peace.

Fresh fighting has once again disrupted shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global supplies of oil and liquefied natural gas.

Pakistan has always maintained that diplomacy and dialogue is the only sustainable path out of the conflict, and has called on both sides to return to the framework established under the June agreement.
