AJK Chief Minister orders relocation of bus stops in Muzaffarabad city

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani has ordered authorities to relocate major transport terminals in Muzaffarabad city as part of measures to improve traffic management and town planning.

The directives were issued at separate meetings chaired by the Prime Minister on traffic management, relocation of public transport facilities and matters falling under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.

During a meeting on traffic management and the public transport relocation plan, Prime Minister Gilani ordered an immediate inspection of proposed sites for a new Lorry Adda and directed officials to submit a report on the findings.

He also called for the immediate removal of illegal transport stands and stressed the need for permanent solutions to the city’s traffic problems instead of temporary measures. The Prime Minister has instructed authorities to consider future transport needs when planning new bus stops. He also ordered the preparation of a feasibility study for road widening and alternative routes to improve traffic flow. Gilani also ordered the authorities to facilitate the relocation of vegetable markets to the allocated locations.

He called on authorities to improve the appearance of the city’s entrances, making them cleaner and more attractive. Plans for modern renovation and renovation of Neelam Park and Thakuri Mandi Park are also proposed.
