Hyderabad Police creates ‘NISA Squad’ for women’s safety in public places

Hyderabad Police has launched a special women’s section called the “NISA Squad” to enhance protection and surveillance of women in public locations around the city.

Hyderabad SSP Shahzeb Chachar told the media that the new squad comprised of 50 women police officers who will patrol in different districts on motorcycles. The program is to enhance security measures and boost police presence in sites where women and families congregate.

Women police personnel started motorbike patrolling at several places along the Autobahn Road under the NISA Squad concept.

Officers will be out and about in public places carrying out checks as part of their duty.

The squad would also target markets, shopping centers, parks and other public places to make the security measures more effective, SSP Chachar added.

The NISA Squad has been formed to improve monitoring and give women a better sense of security while visiting public locations in Hyderabad.
