A five-year-old girl in Pattoki is seriously hurt by a rogue kite’s twine.

In Pattoki here on Saturday, a five-year-old girl was riding a motorbike with her uncle when the string of a wayward kite slashed her throat, seriously injuring her.
Due to her unstable state, the girl was transferred to a hospital in Lahore. However, police said they had arrested a kite vendor and confiscated kites and string reels. A complaint has been filed against the vendor of the kite.
A severe ban prohibiting the use of metallic wire for kite flying has been proclaimed by the Punjab government in conjunction with the Basant festival.
The law also suggests harsh penalties and hefty fines for anyone who disobeys the norms and guidelines designed to ensure safe kite flying.
